oak suppliers for fireplace project

Post by Monkey Wrench »

I am considering making my own wooden fireplace surround from oak.

I have not bought any hardwood for 15+ years for such a project and wondered what the best source of the timber will be. Arnold Lever in Reading is the only supplier I have had any dealings with in the past. Is this likely to cost lots of money? I was considering using 15-20mm pine planks.

Thanks in advance.
