Milwaukee power tools

Post by honeymonster »

I have just been on ebay and whilst looking at dewalt tools I spotted some milwaukee power tools for sale. These seem very expensive tools and make Bosch and Dewalt seem cheap!

Has anyone out there ever used these tools?

Milwaukee power tools

Post by ultimatehandyman »

I have heard mixed reports about Milwaukee power tools, some people love them and others hate them, having never used them I cannot comment. But from a price perspective they seem to be more expensive than dewalt or bosch, and personally I'd go for Bosch.

Better the devil you know!

I believe that Milwaukee are renamed Atlas copco tools, who used to have a pretty good reputation.

Milwaukee are part of Atlas-Copco, who also own AEG Power Tools and Kango (or Wolf-Kango as it used to be?) so depending on where you are in the world the machine might have one of three different badges. The tools are a mixture of AEG, Atlas and Milwaukee designs (Kango is almost no more) and in general seem to be built to quite a good standard. They do a brilliant corded drill range called the "Magnum" (a US design). I know someone who has moved over onto Milwaukee cordless drills and angle grinders because they last longer, but I can't say I fancy the prices. There are one or two lemons in the range, though, like the Casals FT2000 router badged AEG and Atlas-Copco (also sold as the Freud FT2000).
