Hi guys ,looking for a router for an ameture diy er,not going to spend hundreds of punds for somthing that is only used a few times...this one has caught my eye..what do you think? the Bosch Pof 1300

Trend T3 is the best 1/4 starter router kit with a set of cutters, or even a t5?

I prefer the T5, has that bit more power over the t3
Worth the little extra if your going to use it a reasonable amount

thanks for the info guys ,but the T5 is £150 (too much dosh) and the T3 is no longer made.So what do you think of the Bosch?

i have looked at the speck looks ok a bit big if you only plan mainly moulding /rebates

dont forget your cutters are going to double your costs [£40 for a cheap set then about £8 for decent cutters] you need to buy say a 30 or 40 pc cheapy set then you buy the expensive ones as you work out what ones you use the most

i would also suggest you look at ryobi for value for money

To be honest and seem a bit dim I dont know why I want one but just do and I dont want to buy cheap crap that would put me off using it but on the other had I am not going to buy a dewalt...does that make sence to you?

You were saying you don't want to buy cheap cr*p but on the other hand you wouldn't go to DeWalt. I'm pointing out that a number of trademen don't rate DeWalt tool

I have a number of Ryobi tools which, for the DIY use I give them, they are good enough for me. There are a few others on here also rate Ryobi for DIY use as they are cheap

can I say that DeWalt are too expensive for me.....no idea if they are any good or not.
With the info I have read on the net about routers i.e what to look for this one seems to tick all the boxes and more.I know you can pay as little as £50 to what ever you want,I dont want to pay £80-£90 for a good one when I could get a better one for £20 - £30 more that will do me for a long time as a DIYer and a footer....

I recently got one from B&Q, around a £100, i think its by MacAllister or something. Its a half-inch shank, 1800W, variable speed + 1/4" collet, four cutters, worktop guide collar etc.

I got it for mitering worktops and its doing the job lovely, i dont do much woodwork as i prefer metal so it wont get much more use and i couldnt justify the brand name prices.

the Trend T4 is only 850 w and 1/4 collet with a square bottom and is £80
from what I have read on the net the best outers have a powerfull motor at least 1600w and a 1/2 collet with a round bottom.The Ryobi covers all of these.
