Computer problem
Bought a new computer and it did not work so I took it back the man at the shop said it was not his problem and I had to contact HP. HP were very helpful and told me to go back to the shop and they would arrange for a replacement. Took it back and the man unhappy man reluctantly replaced it.
The new one is working great apart I cannot transfer photos from my phone using Bluetooth. The computer recognises my phone and the phone recognises my computer, but will not transfer my photos. The Bluetooth dongle works fine on my old computer. is this a windows 8 thing as her indoors has the same problem.

It's disgraceful tat the shopkeeper didn't exchange the PC without you having to go to HP. Consumer law means the RETAILER is responsible for repairs/exchanges and I hope he was torn a new one by HP for giving you the run around.
Don't take it personally......

Agree with K-E,shop staff try and fob you off so they don't have to give you a refund or replace something faulty that's not fit for purpose. They are bound by law to replace or refund within a reasonable period(earrings/pants etc are obvious exceptions) if faulty. They are the vendors and they are responsible for the replacement or refund.
Argos in particular try and sell you 3 year warranties on electrical goods, most of which come with 2/3 years anyway and ALL come with a 1 year warranty which they try and claim don't.
I love a good old argument with a shop assistant who try and turn you over,it's better when it's a manager and they always back down as they know fine well the law but are told by the head honchos not go adhere to this whenever they can!

Re: Computer problem
What model of phone is it?
Could it be timing out/locking during the process?
Are you needing to exchange passkeys?

Re: Computer problem
Hi,
Can you not just connect it via the included USB cable and download the photos to the PC?
Regards
Ian

Guess what, my phone and pc have the same problem.
If I want to send from phone to pc, its ok with that, but pc to phone, no chance.

Would you hit a nail with a shoe because you don't have a hammer? of course not, then why work on anything electrical without a means of testing Click Here to buy a "tester" just because it works, does NOT mean it is safe.
If gloom had a voice, it would be me.

I've used B/T in the past and it's not worth the hassle imho.

A lot of android based phones and tablets, have communication problems with PC's though. My tablet can connect to my computer via a usb cable, but I'm damned if I can access any files on the android system from my computer. However, I have a bluetooth dongle and can transfer files easily between both tablet and PC (and my android phone as well)
