Please please help

Post by talbot649 »

Hi there,

I'm after a couple of tools which I can't track down anywhere on the net. Is there such a thing as a Klein Tools shop? And also, if I'm after a good quality combination ladder which brand should I go for?

Any help is hugely appreciated.

I've seen what seems to be a great site for ladders (but no Klein Tools) but not sure what to go for - if anyone can take a look and give me their opinion it would be fantastic.

The site is Horizon Tools and Ladders, and as a quick tip to anyone who's interested they're giving away those 6 in 1 screwdrivers at the moment. They're amazing.

Many thanks in advance.

Lucky realy, Horizon is based in Clevedon...your in Bristol....at least thats what your profile on another DIY forum states anyway...i noticed when i was reading the exact same post there.

I think perhaps this could be spam...just like the post in the electrical forum...

Hi there,

I'm not a spammer, I swear. I'm desperate to get my hands on Klein Tools, but can't find a UK seller online anywhere. Is there anyone who has bought Klein Tools online in the UK?

I posted in the other forum because I wanted to stand the best chance of being read by someone who could help

Why don't you go to the Klein website, click on the "contact us" link and e-mail them? I'm sure they'd have a good idea of retailers who sell their tools around the world. That's what I'd do and I'm female! Failing that you can buy their tools direct from Klein in America!

Hi there,

I've emailed them twice, with no reply. And nothing on their supplier list. I know thousands of people use their tools in the UK - please anyone!

Get yourself a US address with a shipping/forwarder agent, then buy from the US websites and you can get them that way - chances are it would be just as cheap as buying from a UK seller if you could find one the way tool prices are inflated in the UK.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman, "Where's the self-help section?"
She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Thanks Hoovie,

Is that really the most straight forward way? Isn't there anywhere I can just browse, choose and buy in the UK.

And to the eBay suggestion - I've been burnt too many times and won't touch it now.

What are you looking for exactly? If you post details of which tools you're after there are lots of professional tradesmen on here that will be able to either give you a very good alternative or supplier! Saying that you are after a couple of tools isn't specific enough!

Thanks,

I'm after the electrician's tool set 80028. A sparky put me on to it a few months back, but never told me where to buy.

There is one regular on the forum that uses this method to buy stuff in the US that is either not available here or is cheaper even with the shipping charges - and looking about on google for a few minutes, it looks like there no UK sellers (except possibly Amazon on their marketplace).
Personally, I have never heard of Klein Tools - are their tools really that special or that good that there are no locally sourced alternatives?

I just e-mailed klein Tools International sales for you and asked for a supplier. They have suppliers in the UK mainland and in Ireland according to the map! I'll post you a pm when I get a reply.

As far as I've heard they're the best. I guess when I want something I find it hard to accept not being able to have it :-)
