Hey all, I've got an issue that my plumber has fitted a 800x800mm shower tray with silicone and I now need to free the tray.
We have formed a new bathroom - built partitions and aquaboarded. Our plumber then used silicone to fix the shower tray to two walls (see pictures). A tiler then fitted our tiles 800x600mm, 4mm thickness. Due to the thickness of the adhesive used we can no longer fit the shower door so need to remove the shower tray and re-fit.
Does anyone have any advice on the best way to remove the silicone, or best tool to use to do this?

You could try the back of a breadknife down the sides to cut the silicone.
I would have seen if a smaller or adjustable shower tray was available before removing the tiles.

Silicone remover Click here
Above are my opinions Below is my signature.
Would you hit a nail with a shoe because you don't have a hammer? of course not, then why work on anything electrical without a means of testing Click Here to buy a "tester" just because it works, does NOT mean it is safe.

Silicon remover is good stuff, and handy for cleaning the old silicone off before re applying a fresh. Would it go down deep enough if the plumber had been liberal with the silicone and REALLY stuck it to the wall?

Re: Removing new shower tray - silicone
Thanks both for the advice. The silicone remover took enough off to allow me to move little away from the wall and get a knife down there. A bit of damage to the wall to make good.
