Black & Decker Leaf Blower

At a house clearance I picked up a B&D garden leaf blower. It's got a bag on the end so I assumed it was dual purpose blow and vacuum. However, though the motor runs, it neither blows nor vacuums.

There's only one switch on/off, that I can see and nothing else.

Anybody got any ideas about how this is supposed to work?

Sounds like the fan has come off the motor shaft! This could happen if, when sucking, the unit sucked up a twig that jammed the fan but the user failed to stop.

Don't bin it just yet,I found a Tesco branded blower in the skip at work,same symptoms as yours when I tried it
Took apart and found some had sucked up wet mud which had then dried rock hard,cleaned it out and it's now working fine,

I think your leaf blower is having some serious issue or else it wont happen like that.Is it like that from the very beginning itself? it is likely that the blowers fan is broken. A broken fan will not create the proper suction that the unit needs to blow air with consistent force. If the fan is loose, it may simply need to be tightened.

I have the same leaf blower it comes with two nozzles one to blow and the other to suck if that makes sense. I would check the fan as often stones get sucked up and damage the fan. You can get spares for B&D try Miles Tools (no connection just used them several times for spares).
