england games and football in general.....
how many of you lot had the misfortune to endure the england players expressing themselves tonight?
absolutely pathetic..
the england internationals from 20 years ago would out play. out fight. out drink and probably out shag the knackers who are england players today.
they have got absolutely nowt about em.
im half convinced the players are under orders by their clubs to not play properly for england.
i also think the england womens team right now would beat the mens team in a full on no holds barred game of football.
football in general.....
im Fuc$ing sick of the current cliches the media are using. couldnt get it over the line..... players expressing themselves..... f*ck me,.... go on a pitch to play football. receive the ball.... pass the ball.... make sure it goes to a team mate..... have a shot.....
so called elite football is actually starting to grate on me.
newcastle united loaned their basically unwanted goalkeeper who is also a trouble maker etc.... apparently to brighton. he was unveilled at the american express elite football performance centre.....
it was always the training ground back in the day...
i reakon i should get some pennies out of renaming where my lot play on a tuesday as the tuesday night football bunch of knackers missadventure centre... though i fear the england team might turn up to play us
my local club is doing quite well for itself. non league football maybe the way forward for me.

Totally agree, there is too much money in football and not enough passion or pride.fin wrote:how many of you lot had the misfortune to endure the england players expressing themselves tonight?

Over the years I've slowly reduced my intake of football but the recent neymar transfer of nearly £200 million was the final straw and I've just lost all interest in it now.

Re: england games and football in general.....
I watched the first half and it was just more of the usual modern sterile stuff that abounds today.
There is a lack of creative players and too many slow build ups - all the really good goals come from fast flowing moves - packed defences make that difficult to achieve and we see a lot of that nowadays as players are fitter and even the forwards are expected to cover back.
I only saw brief glimpses of the second half - just enough to check on the score every few minutes.
I don't think the women would beat them - I've watched them a few times recently (and the women's Rugby team) and they seem to play a different game at a different speed, and they play like girls (hardly surprising).
Definitely too much money sloshing around. Is that the players fault?

One day it will all be firewood.

Re: england games and football in general.....
STV showed the England game live up here instead of the Scotland game...wtf??
Until the 3 foreigner rule is brought back within club football across the board the game will slowly die and the home international teams will continue to suffer.
I grew up watching football in the 80's and 90's,I rarely watch it now. It bores me and the days of the crunching tackles, centre forwards who could header a ball and players playing for the shirt are long gone.

Re: england games and football in general.....
I love football and the mighty Celtic but from a Scotsman point of view our game has been in serious decline since Sky stepped in. They pay the EPL a fortune but give us a pittance why is why I no longer pay for any Sky subscriptions. Any one in England complaining about PSG's transfers now should understand how us Scots feel.
The Scots league isn't as good as the EPL and everyone knows that but while our national squad isn't as good (we are only a small country) we are beginning to reap the rewards of our young scots players getting game time in our own league.
Stevie was bang on with the 3 foreigner rule. Money talks and thats why that rule was rescinded. You can't have it both ways.
