This is a long story which has been shortened significantly for the purposes of posing this question simply, so in case you're wondering about the wisdom of having doe the below...we know...and this is not the full version of the story!
So, (for the purposes of this question), let's say we disconnected a wood burning stove from its flue and pulled it forward in order to easily paint behind it.
When 'we' pushed it back a day later, it obviously needed to be competently reinstated, resealed and HETAS smoke checked.
How much would you expect such a re-installation and smoke check to cost? Also, how long would you expect it to take?
many thanks

Would it not be better to call some one local to you and ask them how much / how long? If a forum member say £x and the person doing the job says £y and they are not similar, what can you do.
I would also ask more than one person local to you how much.

Would you hit a nail with a shoe because you don't have a hammer? of course not, then why work on anything electrical without a means of testing Click Here to buy a "tester" just because it works, does NOT mean it is safe.

Re: Cost of HETAS stove installation check
More than you want to spend would be my guess
I know HETAS is important and people can die from badly installed fires.
However, its frustrating that HETAS engineers are known round this area to charge a fortune for flue installs and if you wanted to save some money and buy the flue yourself....sorry we only install our inflated prices ones.......

Good Morning
I would expect it to take approx. 1 hour and cost around 50.00
Is it possible to get the same hetas engineer who fitted the stove back to do this for you
