Nissan Micra 2006 hazards flashing constantly
Help!! I got in my car yesterday and found the hazards randomly came on and started flashing and nothing I do turns them off. I hadn’t even put my key in the ignition so originally thought maybe I knocked the hazard switch. I’m sure I didn’t. Nothing I did would stop the hazards flashing. Taking out the key doesn’t stop them, locking and relocking the car doesn’t stop them. The only thing I could do was to disconnect one of the battery terminals. After about three hours I reconnected it to see if it stopped and it was flashing again. Can anyone help with an idea of what this could be? I’ve read it could be a faulty switch? Any advice would be so very much appreciated! Thanks in advance.

Most likely a faulty switch rather than a relay or a short. I had a similar problem in my old clio, the switch would get stuck in one position, either you couldn't turn them on, or when they did go on, you couldn't stop them. You will need to get the problem fixed, it's an MOT fail otherwise.
Luckily for me a new switch from ebay cured the problem, cost a few quid and only took a minute to replace. Worth trying before looking at the wiring/relays.

First port of call would be the hazard switch (not a common issue on the micra) - make sure you brake lights are working correctly too - also check that the rear fog light works and the bulb hasn't been removed (common ipdm fault) - iirc the flasher relay is in the fuse box by the drivers knee just above the opening
without seeing the car and diagnosing the issue it could be any number of things what can get complex
disconnect the battery for 20-30 mins and let the ipdm and bcm reset
I have changed many a hazard switch on a Renault - the Clio is particular bad for it

Every Micra driver I've ever been stuck behind should have their hazards flashing...
