my mate has just had his pool table room tiled. he got these tiles free and decided to use them. they were a bit grotty but he cleaned them up and someone put them on the wall for him. when the job was done we went to clean up and there were rust marks on a lot of the tiles which we never gave a second thought to until trying to get them off. i reckon they are from some kind of banding that was used to store the tiles over a long period of time. we have tried all kinds of acid and caustic soda with no success. is there any way of getting the marks off without affecting the cosmetic look of the tiles too much. any help would be greatly appreciated
thanks

What type of tile are they?
IE. are they ceramic or natural stone?
Are they glazed?

Click on my website below and follow the link to Order Sealants and cleaner off the menu on the left.
This will take you to a company that specialise in chemical cleaners for stone and tiles, they'll have a product on there.
From your description I'm guessing you have encaustic tiles, so the victorian tile cleaner might be what you need.
