New builds
Do new builds have a wooden beam behind the plasterboard to accommodate fitting kitchen cabinets or have I just been lucky hitting the noggin or stud every time?

Re: New builds
I'd say you're lucky. I've never found much thought to future maintenance or installation considerations is given when building houses.Argyll wrote:Do new builds have a wooden beam behind the plasterboard to accommodate fitting kitchen cabinets or have I just been lucky hitting the noggin or stud every time?

Re: New builds
Obviously things are done slightly different here in France, all non supporting walls are on metal frames, not wood studs and noggins, when we signed the contracts the plasterer wanted to know where the kitchen wall units were going and as the DW is disabled, he also wanted to know if we wanted hand rails in the toilets, and shower/bathrooms, the architect said that these areas will be strengthened, with what I dont know yet.
