110V Transformer and 110V Power Tools?

Post by Jaeger_S2k »

If a power tool was bought in the states, 110volt and you have a 110v Site Transformer would it be fine to plug the states side power tool with a 110V plug and run it?

What effect would the difference in frequency have? USA 60Hz UK 50Hz

I've been using several Porter-Cable routers and a sander this way for about 5 years now - to date no problems apart from the single-speed stuff running a bit slower and slightly warmer, so the life may not be so good in the long term
