Dimmer switch

Is it possible to use a dimmer switch on a two way or three way lighting arrangement?

I have looked here- http://www.ultimatehandyman.co.uk/DIMMER_SWITCH.htm
But it does not say

Yes you can but only put the dimmer on one switch but not both.

The diagram actually shows a 2 way switch being used with 1 way wiring. The L2 shown on the diagram is used for 2 way.
