Plaster dust - how to remove before painting

Hi.

I have a bit of paint that pealed. The plaster is now exposed.

I plan to sand the area and apply peal stop.

However I noticed that when I touch the plaster my fingers are covered in plaster dust.

How to I get rid of this? Just use a Hoover then a ramp cloth?

I'd use a damp sponge. You also need to remove the peeling paint, I'm no decorator but the paint may not have adhered to the wall because it was over polished. A light sand and wipe down may help the pain stick.

Looks to me like the plaster was never "mist coated" which could easily cause that, mist coat BTW is a slightly diluted coat of emulsion (20% ish water to emulsion) applied before the topcoat/s.

This helps the topcoat/s adhere.
