Looking for advice on kitchen flooring

Hello

Sorry if I've posted this in the wrong part of the forum. I wasn't sure which section this should go in.

I'm looking into different flooring options for my kitchen. My main concern is the flooring getting damaged by something getting dropped onto it.

This is why I probably won't have the floor tiled.

Can't anyone recommend a type of flooring that I could use in that case and whether there are any particular pros and cons to that type?

I would always go with vinyl flooring. From cheap sheet to Kardean, the flooring is warm, tough and looks good

Is it something that's less likely to not get either damaged or visibly damaged by something being accidentally dropped on it?

I have had vinyl type flooring for years and never damaged it in any way. Sheet vinyl can be quite cheap, Karndean looks nice but it is pricey have a read https://www.karndean.com/en-gb/floors

lvt is good. but the glue down type not the click stuff. thats like the karndean stuff.

A tiled floor is stronger than you think, have dropped bottles on it but not a pan as yet, but to have tiled you need a good base, we are a new build so the floor is concrete, as its our first tiled floor, the whole house is tiled as we have UFH, around the hob area you will be surprised at the amount of mess that is made when cooking, so as above I think vinyl may be best for you.
