Paint ?

Post by Tryanything »

Just finished rebuilding my cylinder head and want to paint it to make it
look nice as l dont like the rust look (cast iron head)

My question is as cylinder heads get quite hot im thinking there must be
a special paint, has anybody any idea ?

Have a look on the frosts website.

Perhaps something like a heat proof enamel, like caliper/drum pait if you want a fancy colour.

TA I have used Simoniz Sperex in the past (in my days of GT Cortina's) with excellent results. As far as I know it withstands the highest temperature.

all high temp paints will do the trick or you could powder coat?

if the block justifies it you could polish it with some autosol? lots of hard work and elbow grease required but you can get a near mirror finish on it.

Are you going to steam clean what's left under the bonnet, so it all looks pristine?
