government funding schemes

had a guy round checking for cavity wall insulation and loft insulation said am good to get the cavity wall but the loft is fine which am all happy about getting it done for free

but my question is he said there is talk about windows getting done next which I think is mental if this going to be a government funded surely this isn't going to be right anyone else heard anything about this

How old is your house? What type of construction is it? Does it need cavity wall insulation?

its 15 year old, the guy came and did a test drill and checked it so I assume it does need it lol

If it was built 15 year ago in Scotland chances are it's timber framed and you wouldnt want to fill the cavity.

I noticed the gable end was breezeblock as I ripped the plasterboard of it,

The outer walls are assumed to be of cavity brick/block construction with a facing brick and rendered finish externally.

It's a traditional build then and cavity wall insulation is fine :thumbright:
I just thought I'd mention the timber frame question as most houses are constructed this way now up here.
