Cutting out recess in plasterboard

I've watched a few US Youtube videos when they cut out drywall using a rotozip thing. I just wondered if they have a similar thing here in the UK? I don't want to buy the full tool just an attachment I can fit on my trim router. Is there such a thing here?

Edit: I just spotted this but wonder if I can just buy the attachment?

Over here most folk use a multi tool. Not only can you use it on plasterboard you can cut floorboards too.

Actually, I might just leave it. I thought the cutter worked along the same lines as a bearing router bit but it doesn't. Like this:

It's handy if it's metal behind it so the cutter will follow the edge of the metal but I'm cutting out a recess on a media wall. The recess is also made of plasterboard so the cutter might cut into it.

I think these things are really only good for cutting out sockets with metal back boxes. I don't do enough of that work to justify spending around £100.

I wanted to attach the plasterboard then cut out the plasterboard in situ. I'll just have to use my laser level now and cut out with my multi tool.

Yeah but the rotozip thing follows the back box behind it making a neat cut.

I wanted to fit the plasterboard and cut out the recess for the Tv and Skybox in situ. The photo gives a better idea.

The TV recess is encased with plasterboard now.

I use one of these. For a straight cut I follow a straight edge fixed to the work. I mainly use mine for cutting out for back boxes. I would think that other brands will have the same thing on sale.

i bought the ryobi one about 15 years ago as a possible donner to the imported p600 18v router but not interchangeable so never used

do have ryobi batteries your end argyle ??

Cheers Stevie but the back of it is also plasterboard so it would probably cut into it as well.

Aren't those tools doing the same job as a dremel? Dremel sell a depth attachment for cut outs.

Would a simple saw be best? https://www.screwfix.com/p/c-k-5tpi-woo ... /1046x#_=p rough cut and finish with a Surform perhaps? I gave my Rotazip away having never used it, an impulse buy from Aldi.

Exactly what I did mate but one of those rotozip things would certainly come in handy in future. I think next time I'll screw on a 2mm metal strip on the inside to use as a straight guide for the rotozip and remove when I'm done.
